It’s hard not to follow the crowd by taking a look back at the way Innovation Cars has moved on in 2007. So, being a predictable sort of chap, I thought I would!
It’s hard to believe just how much things have grown this year. At the start of 2007 almost our entire sales were to sports pros; after all, that is how we started. But the launch of the website proper in July really move things on. They had already started to change as our reputation grew, but none of us can believe just how quickly the business has grown, to the point where we now supply far more to the world in general than to the sports world. The sports pros are still incredibly important to the business, and of course close to Hugh’s heart, but the rest of the world has caught up with what we do, and we’re seeing a growth close to 20% per month! We must be doing something right!
It’s also really interesting to see how the cars we get asked for has changed. Predictably, because of the emphasis on the sports pros, we used to do a lot of Ferraris and Lamborghinis plus a smattering of 4×4s, which of course we still do. But the range of cars we supply is now huge, although mainly high-end. From the Reventon and Veyron at the top end performance-wise, and the Phantom and Drophead Coupe luxury-wise, the whole thing is much wider then before. And the ‘bottom’ end has changed a lot too. The biggest surprise for me has been the love of Audis that is growing every month. The biggest hit has undoubtedly been the Audi R8, but the biggest seller has been the Q7. That has really changed the way people are looking at big 4×4s. For many, they have become the perfect alternative to a people-carrier. And with the introduction of the 4.2 TDI in the late summer, the Q7 now offer more performance and power than a Range Rover Sport Supercharged or a Cayenne S! It’s very hard to argue against it.
Now we look forward to 2008. And the way things are going I think it is going to be an amazing year. Even a quick look at the enquiries we had over Christmas shows that the world is waking up to the service we offer and the ease and value of getting the car of their choice, at a great price and a great finance rate, with just a phone call or email! Even Christmas saw over 1,000 visitors to the site and enquiries including a Mclaren SLR, a Drophead Coupe, Continental GT Speed, umpteen Q7s and RRSs , several Aston Martins, a Ferrari F430, a couple of Audi R8s and a host of others. Good thing we only took Christmas Day & Boxing Day off!
