What, I hear you say, you have a Bugatti Veyron Pegaso for sale? But there was only one ever made for that mega-rich Russian who lives in a hotel in Dubai.? Yes, that’s the one.

As you know if you read here regularly, we do deal with a fair number of Veyrons. Despite the current economic malaise there is still a thriving market. We were lucky enough to have a Veyron Pur Sang for sale last year (in fact we have another one at the moment, but it looks like that is about to go), and we did a piece last year as well about a whole shed full of Veyrons that were available.

But the Veyron Pegaso is a very rare beast indeed. Veyron limited editions are common as muck these days (if that’s not an oxymoron) what with the Sang Noir, the Hermes, the Pur Sang and the Pegaso. And now we can add to that list the Centenaire, which will be on show in Italy this week. But all of these limited editions are multiples. The Veyron Pegaso is a one-off.

The Pegaso has done only 2000kms from new and is, as you would expect, absolutely as new. What’s the price. Well, if you know your Veyrons you will know the list price of a new limited edition. And that’s the price of the Pegaso.

So go on. Raid your piggy-bank and have a completely unique Bugatti Veyron to play with. You know it makes sense!

Well, it’s been rumoured almost from the time the original Veyron was launched. But now we know for sure. The Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport is for sale from the Spring of 2009.

The Veyron has been a huge success. What seemed like a dream (and at times a nightmare, for VW) when the project was first announced has become a run away success. A trickle of special editions – The Hermes, The Sang Noir and, until now, the ultimate Veyron, the Pur Sang – has kept the interest of the world’s super rich alive, with a long waiting list and almost instant sell-out of the special editions.

The fastest production car ever made (although others claim the title, such as the SSC, they are not real full production models) the Veyron is an unbelievable car. It’s fame and desirability has spread far beyond the normal ‘Petrol-Head’ realm, and is such that a trip in a Veyron, on anything other than empty country roads, leads to an endless stream of camera-phone pointing, tailgating by every other car you come across and a stampede of interest from every pedestrian in sight! It’s worse than going for a quiet drink with Paris Hilton!

If a normal Veyron excites the world as it does, I think the Paramedics are going to have to be on stand-by when the Veyron Grand Sport hits the roads. But it’s not all good news. It looks like the Grand Sport is going to have a removable top rather than a retractable one, which means, in the UK in particular, you’re going to have to be sure the weather is set fair before you set off. The world and his dog would find it quite hilarious to see a Grand Sport driver sat at the lights with his roof off in a downpour! But it’s a minor niggle. Bugatti brought in Webasto to make the top, so it’s bound to be better than the origami set Lamborghini supply for the LP640 Roadster.

But I’ll take one – even at over £1,000,000!

Bugatti Veyron Pur Sang for sale. Now there’s a phrase you’re guaranteed not to see very often. We’re big admirers of the Veyron (it really is in a different league from any other hyper car on the market), and we couldn’t see how any car could offer more (or in this case less, at least in weight). But the Pur Sang does.

Only 5 Pur Sangs are being made, so they make your regular Veyron look as common as a mini. And it really does stand out, with a very pure aluminium bodyshell, a carbon fibre monocoque and no paint! And all this means a weight saving of almost 100kg, making this an even faster Veyron than the ’standard car’.

Even though we deal in Veyrons regularly, it really is rare to have a Pur Sang. It’s hard to believe that these cars (remember, there are only 5 in the world) sold out in just 24 hours. But the Bugatti is very special, and the Pur Sang even more so.

There is no point espousing the virtues of the Veyron again. They’ve been expressed here on more than one occasion, and in countless other places far more eloquently than I can. Enough to say this is the ultimate road car. The ‘Concorde’ of the automotive world. And this is the ultimate iteration of the marque.

The Veyron is, without a shadow of a doubt, the best car ever made. Nothing comes close. And in some ways it’s sad that so many are available. So what’s the reason? Well, contrary to what the cynics out there may say, it’s probably not due to the sub-prime fiasco in America that’s reverberating round the world. Sure, there’s going to be an element of that in there, but I know for a fact that more than one of these is available because the guy’s second one is about to be delivered. I know, a different planet! And this car is out of reach for most of us.

But there are a big chunk of people out there who can buy a Veyron with pocket change. For example, there are 1,000 dollar billionaires in the world. To them spending around £750k on a Veyron is the equivalent of your bog-standard millionaire spending £750 on a car! And how many millionaires do you know who drive around in a Mk3 Cortina? And when you start on people worth more than $100 million, you’re certainly running in to the tens, if not hundreds of thousands round the world. To them, a Veyron is the same as your average millionaire spending £7500 on a car. A millionaire driving a Fiesta?

So there’s a big market all round the world to fill. Let’s hope we can with this little lot!

Bugatti Veyron for sale. I love that. The best car in the world and someone, somewhere is getting one. And it’s even better when we have it for sale.

On the whole, we don’t do the big “We have a 2008 Bugatti Veyron for Sale” because we source the cars our customers want when they get in touch. But as I’ve said before, we always have a pretty thorough list of what we can lay our hands on very quickly, from Enzos and MC12s to Bugattis and Reventons, via Scuderias and Superleggeras! Oh, I do like looking at what’s around.

But just lately I have been taken to task by some of the guys on the Pistonheads forum for always using library pictures. It’s not true of course, I don’t always post with library pictures, but it’s hard enough finding the time to write here without actually having to grab the camera and play at David Bailey. So on the whole I do take the easy option and use library images. Let’s face it, you all know what the car should look like, and a library picture is probably better shot than I could manage in the time I have (even though I once made my living taking photos – Oh, I’ve lived a varied life!). But I thought I’d make an exception to appease the detractors!

So here we have an ‘08 Bugatti Veyron. This car is the actual one for sale. And with any luck I’ll get to go and deliver it when it gets sold. But in reality it will probably be trailered.

Oh, well, it’ll save being surrounded by crowds with camera phones every time I stop!

I always find it amusing when the press runs stories about ‘Footballers Cars’. They’re often so wrong it’s laughable. But I suppose it’s easy for me to smile because we supply so many of them we know what everyone’s got.

One ‘Footballers Car’ myth that seems to do the round with monotonous regularity is that Tim Cahill, that talented Aussie at Everton FC, owns a Bugatti Veyron. It crops up every time one of these daft stories are run, but it’s complete rubbish!

The first time this story ran, Tim called Hugh to say “I get all my cars from you mate, so you know I haven’t got one. I wouldn’t go anywhere else!”. Nice phone call, but it wasn’t necessary. We know how the story started, and we know the car very well, so we know exactly who has it, and it isn’t Tim. Not that I think Tim was terribly upset that the world thought he had a Veyron. But he doesn’t. He has a very nice Lamborghini and is very happy with that.

So next time someone wants to know who’s driving what, check with someone who knows (and we’ll happily tell you, as long as our client is happy for us to)!
